Interested in the 2019 Deb Balls
The Rotary Club of Pakenham Debutante Balls
are being held this year in August on Friday the 23rd and Saturday the 24th
Deb Balls will be held at the Pakenham Racing Club in Tynong,          Deb and Partners required at venue 4.30pm, doors open for guests at 6.30pm, and function begins at 7pm
 
Information night is Sunday May 19th at 6pm at the Pakenham Dance Studio 2/907 Princes Hwy Pakenham
 
Registration night is Sunday June 2nd at 6pm at the Pakenham Dance Studio 2/907 Princes Hwy Pakenham
Cost for the Debutantes and Partners are $245 each, also we can cater for more Debs and Guests, so please attend the information night Guest tickets are $95.00 each (credit card fee 2%)
There will be 10 weeks of dance lessons

2019 DEBUTANTE PRESENTATION BALL RULES 
                    
PAKENHAM DEBUTANTE BALLS – Pakenham Racing Club (Tynong)
Friday 23rd August and Saturday 24th August
  • TRAINING NIGHTS X 10: will be at the Pakenham Dance Studio every Sunday, starting on June 16th
  • Debs and Partners MUST be able to attend every training session, including school holidays. –
  • Debs and Partners must wear HARD soled shoes at training. NO SNEAKERS OR BAREFEET (no point having blisters or sore feet on the night).
  • It is advisable that the girls practise in their Ball shoes.
  • No hats, caps or hoodies are to be worn.
  •  Mobile phones are to be switched off.
  • Aggressive and loud behaviour will not be tolerated; and persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be sent home. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.
Friday 23rd August Ball training times are from 4.30 – 6.00pm commencing Sunday June 16th
Saturday 24th August Ball training times are from 6.30 – 8.00pm commencing Sunday June 16th  
 
FEES – DEBS AND PARTNERS
  • Debs and Partners - $245 each (credit card fee 2%): DUE ON REGISTRATION NIGHT. (Photography costs will  be explained on information night, by photographer)
            DEBS will receive:                         10 weeks of dancing lessons 
                                                                    Long white gloves
                                                                    Flowers
                                                                    Ticket and meal at the Ball.      
 
All Ball gowns and shoes MUST be white in colour; not cream, ivory or silver, as the colour difference is noticeable in photos. Gowns are not to be tight fitting in the skirt, as curtseying and performing some of the dances may be very difficult.
 
PARTNERS will receive:                             10 weeks of dancing lessons 
                                                                      Suit hire; including gloves and shoes
                                                                      Buttonhole flower
                                                                      Ticket and meal at the Ball.
                       
Fitting for suits and the collection of these will be advised during the course of training. You must wear your own BLACK socks to the Ball. You must remain in your suit until instructed to change at the end of the evening.
 
BALL TICKETS:                              Tickets are $95 per head (credit Card fee 2%).                                                                         
                                                        This includes the cost of meals, music, venue, decorations, etc.  
                     
  • As the venue is quite large, there is plenty of table space and tickets available, standard table is for a Deb and 9 guests, additional tables for guests are available and these are on a first come basis. Please advise Rotary as soon as you know you will need more seats.
  •  Please fill out and return your guest list ASAP, with dietary requirements.
  •  All drinks are to be purchased at the bar on the night. BYO is NOT permitted.
  •  As this is a formal occasion the dress code for guests is a suit, lounge jacket and tie for the gents and evening wear for the ladies. T-shirts, denim and sneakers will not be allowed. Guests arriving at the Ball will be turned away if they are inappropriately dressed.
PHOTOS:
  • Satin Edge Photography will be the official photographer for the evening and photos of the Debs and their Partners will be taken at the Pakenham Racing Club prior to the Ball, from 4.30pm onwards. If you wish to have family and friend photos taken, you will have to pay an extra cost and they will be taken after the Debs and Partners have been presented, at a time that has been arranged with the photographer.
PRESENTATION NIGHT:
  • NO alcohol is to be consumed during the evening of the Ball by the Debs or their Partners. There is to be NO underage drinking. NO alcohol will be taken outside the venue and NO drinking on the dance floor. All drinks are to be consumed at the tables.
It would be a good idea to arrange a taxi prior to the evening, if needed

So, when you fill out the paperwork, please fill it out carefully and correctly. There will be photos posted on the Rotary Facebook page. If anyone has a problem with their photograph being taken and placed on facebook or similar, please let us know
Please fill out the Aspirations and Ambitions sheet sensibly, as this will be read out just before you are being presented. (You have until the 4th of August to fill them out and return them.)
 
DEBUTANTES! Please choose your Partner carefully. It is suggested that you do not do the Deb ball with your boyfriend. In the past, it has proved to be a major problem if you break up. Choose a friend or relative that you can be sure will come to all the training nights and of course, the Ball.
WHEN CHOOSING A PARTNER, WE WOULD PREFER THAT THEY HAVE NOT DONE A DEBUTANTE BALL BEFORE.  THERE WILL BE A MAXIMUM OF 30 DEB COUPLES PER NIGHT.
 
REGISTRATION PAYMENTS can be made from 10 am on Monday May 20th, until – 9th June. Payment required for Debutantes and Partners to be paid by the 9th June 2019 . Please see the Rotary Club of Pakenham website page for instruction for payment via credit card (fee 2%) or Direct deposit
 
Guest tickets can be paid for at any time up until 11th August
 
To the first 10 Debutantes and Partners that fill the full list of guests and pay for them on registration night, they can choose their table (proximity to dance floor)
 
*** Information for the Guys ***
IT IS A REQUIREMENT THAT: Your suits and shoes must be left at the Pakenham Racing Club after the Ball has finished, in the suit bag provided with your name on it. Therefore; you will need to bring clothes and shoes to change into at the END of the evening.  A fee of $100.00 will be charged if you do not leave your suits and shoes to be collected on the night, by the hire company. DO NOT get changed until instructed to, after the Ball has concluded. Remember to wear BLACK SOCKS with your suits.
