Guest speaker 7th September was Elise Davine (Geoff’s daughter).

Well we learnt that despite having President Geoff as her father Elise followed her scholarly instinct into nutrition- obviously got that from her mother as her father has never had a high regard for nutrition!
A lot of research has gone into the development of the various products for a wide variety of animals.

Elise works for Ridley in stock feeds and is very involved with the preparation of animal feed requirements. Much has changed since the first plant (Barrastoc) was built in Pakenham over 40 years ago.

Pakenham now has two plants- Gold and Green - that are completely separate entities with no crossover of raw materials and staff. This is also important to their Covid plan. Ridley now has nine plants operating in Victoria with a relatively new plant at Lara servicing western Victoria and taking some pressure of Pakenham due to the logistics of crossing the Westgate Bridge.

A very well presented topic- Elise is obviously expert at zoom and “sharing” the screen to show her slides and photos.
