Presidents Ponderings:

Hi All,

Welcome to another wonderful week in the life of Rotary. Last week’s service meeting again generated some great discussion and highlighted the amount of work we are doing as a club. Thanks again for your input and enthusiasm. We have the go ahead to start coordinating the Le Pines proposal and highlighting the impact Rotary and other organisations have in our local community. Let’s all get behind Greg & Grant and drive this initiative forward. This will be great PR for our club and a wonderful opportunity to source new members. Well done to everyone involved so far. Community have certainly been busy with a number of projects including:
Installing seats in Rotary Park, Putting together and installing new community boards across town, organising a Tipping House working Bee while also driving a number of grant opportunities to raise funds for toilet facilities at Rotary Park. Keep up the great work. There was also a great suggestion from their committee to install plaques in the vicinity of the recent tree plantings highlighting the contribution of Lakeside college & Pakenham secondary college, another great initiative.

We are gearing up for a busy run through to Christmas with the trailer raffle tickets ready for printing, a number of BBQ’s on the agenda (Well done to Bill, George and the team for the Bunnings effort a couple of weeks ago. Great to assist another organisation while making some revenue for our club as well). School speeches coming up on the 23rd, always a great PR opportunity for our club while providing an avenue for some of our extremely talented students to showcase their talents.

The monthly dance continues to go from strength to strength, let’s make sure we can help out Ian when we can as it is a great community event.

Marta will be organising our Christmas party this year on the 18th December. Any suggestion you might have for venues or themes let Marta know.

Is Marta really going to Pay?

Tuesday 6th November is Melbourne Cup day and there will not be a meeting that week. Further details will follow if we continue the tradition of going to Bunyip/Garfield on the Wednesday night. The AGM will also be moved to the first Tuesday in December.

Don’t forget your membership surveys and if you haven’t already registered for the Membership forum this weekend at the Nossal School but would like to attend please let myself or Greg Know.

Unfortunately the Jokers Wild again was missed, Bad luck Tim (Hopefully no legal repercussions). Not many cards left so it could go off any time!

Thanks again for a wonderful week
