Presidents Report Jan 20 2018.

Hi to all.

What an interesting and sometimes humors talk Goran gave us last week.  We all got to know Goran and his personality a lot more.

Goran managed to do a double act by also winning the Jokers Wild raffle, but missed the elusive Joker.

I received a fact sheet about Rotary’s commitment to the eradication of Polio from the world. This fact sheet was in last week’s Scribe and the link is on our Web Page. The main message is that we (Rotary) are on the count down with Polio’s eradiation with only 15 Polio Cases reported in 3 countries as of 15 November 2017. However, Polio is a long way from being eradicated with more than 450 million children still needing to be vaccinated multiple times, using more than two billion doses of oral polio vaccine. This has to be done every year until the world is certified polio free. Rotary International has commitment to raise $50 million per year over the next three years as part of our; End Polio Now: Countdown to History campaign. For more information see:-  https://www.endpolio.org/

On the District level, I have been attending our Melbourne South East Area President’s meetings, which are held monthly. We are currently in the process of organizing an event which we will need all our clubs to participate in. Does everybody love the Blues Brothers?   I will have more information about this event in the future. District Conference is four weeks away and you still have time to register and attend.

Hope to see you on Tuesday,

Regards,

Greg.
