Hello Rotarians and Partners.

It’s Sunday night and I have left it a bit late again in writing this report.

I have just come home from a hectic day out, stopping briefly to see how the Debutant Ball information night went. I arrived just in time, to
open the front door and let the attendees out, who were followed by a few Rotarians saying that they had just finished! It was great to hear
that everyone else arrived on time and had had a successful night.

Geoff also informed me that we have sufficient numbers to run another successful Debutant Ball again this
year, with some cost savings which will be passed on to the participants.

At our Tuesday meeting last week, we had a superb night with three diverse topics being covered.

Firstly we had Catalina Novoa , whose mother is a member of the Rotary Club of Tunja and will be the
assistant Governor next year in District 4281 in Colombia, give a 5 minute power point presentation about
Colombia. She showed us what a beautiful country Colombia is, while dismissing the myth about
Columbia’s drug regime. Catalina also gave us a beautifully woven handmade shoulder bag as a gift and we
exchanged club banners. Catalina is living in Melbourne and studying English at Kaplan International
Collage until June of this year.

Secondly we had Linda Austen and Paul Arnold from Millhaven Lodge give a power point presentation,
about the history of Millhaven Lodge and the plans they have for the future direction of Millhaven. They
also gave us an insight into the huge amount of money and commitment that came from the dedicated
staff and volunteers. This dedication helped to provide the high quality of care they afforded their
residents.

Lastly we met our DGE Janne Speirs who made a quick visit to our club to present PE Goran with a gift as
she is unable to attend our Change Over later this year. Janne also spoke about some exciting events that
our District is planning next year.

See you at our next meeting.

Yours in Rotary,

Greg
