President’s Report May 27 th

Hello Rotarians and Partners.

This week we ended with a very successful Golf Day. Thank you, Ken and everyone who helped on Friday
to make this a truly great event. See Ken’s report in this issue.

On Friday also, Ian Wake had arranged with Geoff Double to remove an Oak tree from Tipping House
Pakenham. Ian had planted this tree about 10 years ago and it was now a nuisance. Geoff Janssen and
John Antonie and myself were there assisting.  Everything was going well until John tripped on a branch
that was being pulled by Geoff and fell dislocating his finger. I spent the rest of the afternoon with John
at Casey Hospital Emergency Centre. Thank goodness they were able to correct his finger he was able
to join Linda at the Golf Club for dinner.  Ian rang me during the afternoon and informed me they had
completed the tree and were heading home. Another community service project successfully completed.

Last Tuesday’s meeting we had Luke Williams and David Young from the Bless Collective Food Van
informed us about their community program providing meals and friendship for those in need in our
local community. For more information see their web site

The Jokers wild prize pool is still increasing with Tim Ahern missing the elusive Joker again last week.

NEW ROTARY CLUB IN OUR AREA
Rotary Club of Berwick is setting up a new satellite club that will be a more flexible model of their
current club. The club will meet once a month on a Sunday afternoon and work at 2-3 local projects
(which they hope to assist Pakenham with some of our major projects).
They are planning to visit our club in the near future to give us a 5 min talk about the new club.

Next Tuesday is our Partners night. Looking forward to seeing you all then

Yours in Rotary,

Greg
