Rotary Club of Pakenham supports Special Needs Disco

Pakenham Dance Studio owner Shane Gray has helped fill that missing need in our Pakenham community by holding the monthly “Special Needs Disco” on the third Saturday night of each month and always with a colorful theme.

His staff volunteer for the night to help and supervise the evening to ensure it is a safe and fun night. Music is thoughtfully arranged so that is suitable and entertaining for all, who like to dance the night away.

He also welcomes and supports carers and parents to attend if they wish this encourages all families and siblings to attend.

Shane also provides multiple door prizes on the night, hot food and snacks, he also endeavors to make sure that everyone has fun on the night.

The Special Needs Disco encourages Social Skills for people with special needs in a friendly and safe environment. It is a great opportunity for all abilities to develop those social skills that are so important for effective interpersonal functioning in a normal and varied social setting.

The Special Needs Disco gives a positive environment for understanding other people’s needs, as well as fostering communication

Shane would like to thank the Rotary Club of Pakenham for the contribution and support towards the Special Needs Disco
